This program provides kits of sweat suits, slippers and toiletries for assault victims of all ages. (A program of the IRIS Professional Auxiliary).
Community Service was established to help economically disadvantaged Anaheim residents with various needs. This program participates in the Anaheim Human Services Network. One of our programs has been to send good will packages to our local soldiers in Iraq.
This program provides caps decorated by our members and given to children being treated for cancer at Children's Hospital. (A program of the Anaheim Hills Auxiliary).
The Auxiliary provides assistance to Apartment #5 at the Anaheim Interfaith Shelter. Even though the families change (each family "graduates" from the program in about eight months) our commitment to help the occupants of that unit does not. We provide funds for the maintenance of the unit (i.e., paint, bath fixtures, refrigerators, etc.) and items for the personal use of the family occupying the unit (back packs, clothing, birthday gifts, holiday meals, etc.).
This international award winning educational puppet program offers a comfortable environment in which children learn about disabilities, cultural differences and social problems of others. They learn that despite appearances we are all alike with the same hopes and fears. This program is addressed to the third grade elementary students of Anaheim schools. We are currently seeking puppeteers.
This program offers eyeglass replacement for those children who have lost or broken their prescriptions glasses before they are able to replace them thru state funded programs. These children are referred to us by the Anaheim elementary schools.
Sometimes a child in a traumatic or hospital situation needs a friend and something to "hold onto" to ease the pain or fear. Our program provides bears as a "friend" in times of need by furnishing huggable bears to the Anaheim Police and Fire Departments to be given as a comfort to distressed children following an accident or traumatic incident.
|
This program benefits visually handicapped children in Anaheim elementary and high schools, providing visual aids and electronic equipment for the visually impaired. Assistance League of Anaheim sponsors needy, visually handicapped students.
This program presents opportunities for senior citizens to participate in new and interesting activities. It is designed to stimulate and broaden the horizons of our seniors with participation in programs, games and most importantly, fellowship at the Chapter's Service Center. Seniors meet once a month, nine months of the year, for a variety of programs and are served a hot luncheon.
